The World's Easiest Cable Railing

CableFX combines 316 marine-grade stainless steel cables with aircraft-grade aluminum posts and rails to create a railing system that's as easy to install as it is beautiful to look through. The patented Express Mount Bracket® system eliminates drilling through wood posts entirely — transforming a multi-day installation into a weekend project.

Express Mount Bracket®

The patented bracket system mounts to the outside of wood posts — no drilling through posts required. Cuts installation time by hours.

CableFX® Cable Railing FAQ

What type of cable does CableFX use?

CableFX uses 1/8" 316 marine-grade stainless steel cable — the same grade used in marine and coastal applications. This cable is highly resistant to corrosion, even in salt-air environments, and maintains its strength and appearance for decades.

What is the maximum post spacing for CableFX cable railing?

Posts must be spaced no more than 60 inches (5 feet) apart to maintain proper cable tension and code compliance. This applies to both level and stair sections.

What is the Express Mount Bracket® system?

The Express Mount Bracket® is RailFX's patented innovation that eliminates drilling cable holes through wood posts. The brackets mount to the outside of existing posts, dramatically reducing installation time while maintaining a clean, professional look.

What top rail options are available?

CableFX offers three top rail profiles: Series 200 (contemporary flat rail), Series 250 (low-profile graspable handrail), and Series 400 (flat drink rail for entertaining). All rails are available in lengths up to 20 feet and can be trimmed on site.

Can CableFX cable railing be used indoors?

Absolutely. CableFX is rated for both interior and exterior applications. The clean lines and view-preserving design make it popular for interior staircases, lofts, and mezzanines in modern homes.

How do you tension the cables?

RailFX uses a concealed tensioning system with either Push-Lock® fittings (tool-free) or traditional Invisiware® receivers with Pull-Lock™ end fittings. Both systems are hidden within the posts for a clean, hardware-free appearance.
