Heat & Sun Considerations
Please note: The darker the color, the hotter the deck will feel in direct sunlight. For hotter climates, consider lighter colors or Trex Transcend Lineage® with SunComfortable™ technology.
*Although Trex decking with heat-mitigating technology is designed to be cooler, on hot sunny days it will still get hot. Care should be taken to avoid extended contact between exposed skin and the deck surface, especially with young children.
Built for Docks & Marinas
TimberTech Terrain decking isn't just for backyard decks — it thrives in harsh waterfront environments too.
Submersible

Splinter-Free
Walk barefoot with confidence — no splinters, no rough edges, ever.
Handles Harsh Conditions
Salt spray, UV exposure, and constant moisture — composite shrugs it off.

Won't absorb and radiate heat like pressure-treated lumber or traditional decking.
Low Maintenance
No sanding, staining, or sealing — just rinse and enjoy.
Fire-Resistant Decking
Utah's Wildland-Urban Interface areas demand materials that meet strict fire codes. TimberTech Terrain delivers.

Complies with California WUI standards (Chapter 7A) and ICC IWUIC requirements for exterior construction.
Peace of Mind
Build confidently in foothill communities, mountain retreats, and anywhere wildfire risk is a concern.
TimberTech Terrain FAQ
What makes the Terrain Collection different from other TimberTech lines?
Terrain offers traditional wood-grain with earthy, natural tones at the most accessible price point in the PRO Composite lineup. While Legacy has hand-scraped texture and Reserve has wire-brushed finish, Terrain delivers classic wood aesthetics with moderate color blending — honest, familiar, and beautiful.
Is Terrain a good value compared to wood decking?
Absolutely. While the upfront cost is slightly higher than pressure-treated lumber, Terrain pays for itself in zero maintenance — no annual staining, sealing, or sanding. Over 10 years, composite decking typically costs less than wood when you factor in maintenance time and materials.
How many colors does Terrain come in?
Terrain offers five colors: Brown Oak, Silver Maple, Sandy Birch, Rustic Elm, and Stone Ash. The palette is inspired by natural landscapes — warm browns, cool grays, and neutral tones that complement any home exterior.
What warranty does Terrain carry?
Terrain carries a 30-Year Structural + Fade & Stain Warranty — the same as Legacy and Reserve. Three decades of guaranteed performance and beauty.
Is Terrain capped on all sides?
Yes — like all PRO Composite boards, Terrain features 4-sided capping. The protective polymer shell wraps around every surface — top, bottom, and both edges — for comprehensive protection against moisture and UV damage.
Can Terrain handle Utah's snow and cold winters?
Yes. The 4-sided capping prevents moisture absorption during freeze-thaw cycles, and the composite material won't crack, warp, or split in cold temperatures. Simply shovel or blow snow off — no salt or de-icer damage to worry about.
